MARDEN QUARRY

The quarry holds mirror carp well into double figures as well as common carp also to a very good size.

The carp fishing at Marden Quarry has been very good in recent years with carp to 18lbs reported.

Other species are roach, rudd, tench, perch, bream, crucian carp and the occasional large goldfish.

The water has been stocked in recent years with both roach and perch.  

The Environment agency installed spawning structures in Marden quarry which appear

to be working well, as large numbers of fry have been reported this year.

There is no close season on this water.

The water is no longer a day ticket water

1. Barbless hooks only

2. Marden Quarry is a strict No Alcohol and Drug Free Zone

3. Night fishing will be allowed on Marden Quarry from April 1st 2012.

Places are limited to 6 anglers and the quarry must be vacated at 9am

as anglers are not allowed to fish 2 nights consecutively. To book on

4. No bivvies or tents to be used although umbrellas with or without

sides are ok.

5. No barbeques or fires are allowed although small stoves

are ok.

6. If you see any anti-social behaviour do not get involved.

7. Please ensure that all rubbish is removed when leaving the water & please be polite to the general public as this is after all a Public Park,

8. There is a 3 rod max all year and 1lb dry groundbait limit

9. Any one fishing this water is asked to use the car park in Marden Quarry and not to park in Studley Gardens.

10.ALL ANGLERS FISHING FOR CARP MUST HAVE IN THEIR POSESSION AN UNHOOKING MAT AND CORRECT SIZED LANDING NET

11. No Floating baits allowed and barbless hooks only

12.NO FISHING ZONE. This is from the bottom of the bank and marked with two posts.


13.Please all Anglers respect the wild life and park users. Please cause no damage to the park. If you need to do any maintainance on a swim or peg make sure that you have the permission of the warden.
