High Stand in Cumbria is set in the midst of
a forest, in peaceful surroundings. Although
there are three ponds on the site it is the two larger ponds which are fished. Mill
pond, which is the largest of the two has depths varying form 6 to 15 feet. The
Mill pond is well populated with roach, chub and perch with the occasional
tench and carp also present. Skelly
pond has depths ranging from 6 to 20 feet, again well populated with roach and
perch and a larger stock of chub and tench, some to specimen proportions. There
is also a small number of large carp. Day tickets
costing £3
can be obtained from the adjacent caravan site at Inglewood Hall. Inglewood Hall
Caravan Park is open from 31st March to 31st October. Season tickets for high stand
only can be obtained via BWAC. See membership
section for details. |
